Greenbergs Fredericksburg Show

Hi All, Just got back from the Greenberg Train and toy show held here in Fredericksburg; I remember someone asking if they were worth going to and imo I’ll say it wasn’t a bad show. Overall I’ll give it a grade of “B”, they had a lot of stuff to look at and some operating layouts including a really large Z scale layout. Man is that stuff tiny lol. They seemed to have a lot of Lionell stuff too which doesn’t interest me but to each their own. I came away with a couple of books I wanted and could of stayed longer but the kids were losing interest. Tom

I have not visited the show in Fredericksburg. I do go to the show in Chantilly Va. I wish they would have more there. Some of the stuff I would like to see is

  1. Manufacture Reps

  2. More work shops

  3. More set ups of different scales

  4. More stuff for Kids

This is the second year for the Fredericksburg show.

I went early Saturday to see if I could find some bargans. No luck! It seems that the people selling used stuff want top dollar for their goods. I saw several old Life Like rolling stock with horn hook couplers and plastic wheels (all original and well used) with $5.00 stickers on them.

Give me a break. New they were $1-$2. Now they want more than they cost originally.

Yea they did have a ton of “O” scale stuff there and that was no different. Items you could purchase online for $150 were going for $200.

They did have a few nice displays. The N scale layout was pretty good as was the HO layout.

This show and the Chantilly show are very similar with the same people attending for the most part.

The big show in this area is the Timonium show near Baltimore. If you’ve never been there they have much more HO and N scale stuff and the show is several times larger. I have also found pretty good deals there as well. Biggest problem is driving more than two hours to get there and then driving back.
