[:)]I wish everyone on our great Trains Forum a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
Nice ! Thanks for sharing !
Now - How do I get one of those under my Christmas tree ?
- Paul North.
Thanks for the comment. It would take one of those really big trees behind the train and a giant loop.

[(-D] Good one ! [tup]
YES! SIR!## And back to you with the same: MERRY CHRISTMAS,## and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to You,## and to ALL who come here!### Best Wishes to all for a great New Year
A giant loop? Hey, there IS a giant loop – UP’s (ex-WP’s) Williams Loop – in the Feather River Canyon in Northern California!
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL ON TRAINS.COM FORUMS FROM LOUISVILLE, KY!!
Good point about the Giant loop. It does have some nice trees. I included two pictures from the Loop last year.
It would take one of those really big trees behind the train and a giant loop. It makes sense now why the UP purchased the WP back in 1983. They wanted a loop to run their trains around a Christmas Tree???

Great WP Heritage unit shots!
How did you manage to take a photo of the rare WP unit right at Williams Loop? Did you campout there for a month or two? Hmmm. The photo looks like UP probably just got classy and put it on a rather special movement, a movement that you happened to be interested in yourself …
In my case the unit has been quite illusive, as I’ve only seen it once, as a trailing unit when it went westbound through the SP side of Pomona, CA months ago.
Stay safe,
K.P.
PS: You didn’t happen to shoot WP 1983 at Sloat by any chance?
Have you been to the Omaha headquarters building in recent years? The ground level lobby has a Christmas tree with a G-scale loop of track surrounding it. A C44-9W may usually be seen pulling a freight train on that track. It has long been my secret wish to sneak into the building during the dead of night and hang a caboose on the back end of that train.
[:-,] Does anyone make a G-scale 4-8-4 or 4-6+6-4 that could replace the C44-9W ?
If not, there’s a worthy scratch-building or kit-bashing project for someone with time on their hands and a “mission” to fulfill . . . Who knows, if approached nicely maybe such a locomotive could even be run with official approval . . . [:-^]

I was thinking a nice BNSF dash-9…
