Hi guys. I would like to know how to remove ground cover off of insulated foam short of cutting it out and making a depression. As always…thank-you.
i removed it from plywood and cork by using a surform tool and a vacuum. don’t see why it wouldn’t work on foam if you use a light touch.

Have you tried to sand it off?
If you used white glue to affix the ground cover, simply re-wet the area, wait a few minutes, then use a scraper to remove the mess. Don’t push the scraper; drag it instead, to avoid gouging the foam.

Agreed, Wet the area first. Before you put down any new scenery, always cover the foam with a layer of plaster cloth. By doing that it not only looks better but when you decide to change again you simply pull the cloth off and everything comes up with it.
Do you put that plaster cloth down dry or do you wet it first?
I just take a power sander to it
I cut the plaster cloth to fit the area I’m scenicking, lay it in place while it’s dry, then brush water onto it. I found this easier to work with than trying to handle a piece of wet plaster cloth.
Semi-finished look. The vertical seam you see is so that the scenery can be lifted off in sections if I need to work on that area of the layout.
