Hey guys a while back some body posted a link on how to make ground foam.http://dansresincasting.com/Ground%20foam.htm Well I finally bought some foam and tried it out. Here are my results. The foam sheet only cost me a $1.50 in case you were wondering.
It looks good enough to eat!
Doesn’t get much better than that. Nice work…and cheap!!
I had good sucess doing thi also, I just cant get it really fine tho.
I am glad you had good luck with it. A couple of tricks for making it finer is to: 1 run it thru longer in the blender. 2 make sure the blades are sharp. I took ine apart and sharpened the blades…made a huge difference. 3 after the foam dries, grab a handfull and rub it together like you are washing your hands. This breaks it up into finer pieces. I will also run it thru the blender two or three times over once it is dry.

looks great!
I just tossed out an old sofa that had three 20" X 24" x 4" seat cushions. Turns out the stuffing is just foam. Since it was still spongy and in good condition, I saved the cushions for the blender. [:D]
I’m anxious to try this.
I have a uncle that run a furniture shop I got some foam out of his trash Aans started making some, and it works super …Thank U all saved me around me Grand in money
WOW, it’s one of those “Why didn’t I think of that” ideas…I did everything that was said, and I agree, IT WORKS people! thanks for posting this…
Figured out how they do it, they are not happy, Osterizer is!!!
To make ground foam I have used an old [emphasise on old] blender and also a coffee grinder. If you pulse it you get various sizes too. However do not reuse these for food.
Hope it helps
Would old, dried out foam work better than a new piece? It starts to crumble on it’s own, just thought it may grind finer.
Bob K.
Robert Knapp It will grind finer but it may also turn to something like flour or dust. Might be good for things like mud though or really fine use. Make sure it is well glued down though as it may get into gears and such.
freeze it
Believe me, that is not fun.
