Group raising funds to preserve Missouri lift bridge
I live in MO and trust me when say this - It’s a big waste of money to do that. Talk about a bridge nowhere!
Too bad the tracks are gone…seems much for a trail.

The missing span can not be replaced due to clearance issues
over UP mainline. The old span was up on blocks to allow
clearance for double stack traffic. When UP and MKT merged I had the span removed and scraped.
They don’t have to replace the old bridge deck. They can create a new arched bridge to have the path go over the active railway without clearance issues.
I think that this is an awesome thing to see. the Katy trail will get it’s own bridge.
