GS-4 Freedom train

I would like to know how rare the Freedom train is that was lead by the 4449 I would like to have one to run on our layout. I have not seen mnay if any for sale anywhere. nor canI find much out on them.

The only O-3 Rail version that I know of was from MTH, I saw one at B&B Hobbies in Spokane, WA a while back, it was traditional size and either Loco-Sound or PS-1 equipped as I recall. I believe the price was $229.99, but I am not positive on the price or sound package. They did not have any cars that I saw, so I don’t know if MTH did a complete car set or not.

If You are interested, try getting their phone# from 411, and if you have no luck with that, send me a PM or EM and I will try to stop and see if they still have it, I am a truck driver and I go to Spokane almost every Wednesday, B&B is less than 2 miles from the hotel I stay at, it is just a matter of whether I get done early enough to get there before closing. If it helps finding them through 411, they are on East Francis ST.

K-Line made the American Freedom Train GS-4 several years back. I think the list was $299. with TMCC.

There are several who have done the Freedom Train. As others have said, MTH and K-Line both did the GS-4 in those colors. Williams is currently taking orders for the GS-4 in the Freedom Train colors as well. It’s just a standard engine with little detail and the incorrect tender. As far as detail goes, I would go with the K-Line. It appears to be semi-scale which has more detail but will still run on 031 I believe.

The Freedom train is a beautifull set but a little hard to come by. There are currently two sets for sale on ebay right now, one MTH and the other K-Line.
