GSB EMD HO Switcher interior cab kit

Pardon me for hitting all the HO lists, but I figure not everyone is on all the lists.

After a thirty year hiatus from HO trains, I’ve decided to get back into it in a limited capacity.
I resurrected an old SCR power supply I built back then and started going through my boxes of stored stuff.

I have an old Athearn EMD SW 7/9/1200/1500 switcher that I had always wanted to put one of the GSB rail interior kits into.
Of course, I never bought the kit.
Now I want one.
Anyone have one sitting on the shelf they’d like to get rid of?

I don’t have access to a Walthers catalog, so, I don’t know if those kits are still available.
I’ve done several internet searches to no avail.

I believe that GSB is long gone. However, I do have a copy of a 1984 Walthers catalog which describes what you’re looking for. If it helps your search any, the Walthers catalog number for the GSB kit for what Athearn called a SW 1500 cab interior kit was 319-3302.

Oh, and I did a quick Google search using the words GSB cab interior 3302, and two old expired listings for Ebay came up. So maybe with the 3302 kit number one of the other members of the forum can check the bins under their benchwork!

Just do a search on Ebay everyday for GSB, they show up there from time to time and that will probably be your best bet.

A month ago at an estate sale where a large lot of trains were sold there were 2 lots of cab interiors as well passenger one unopened that were sold to a person I know in Tn. I will ty to get ahold of him and see if there were any GSB interiors in either of the groups he bought. He buys and sells train stuff so I know he didn’t buy anything in those lots for his personal use.

also, don’t forget that Walthers website has a digital listing. Some find it a nuisance to navigate, but it can be useful.

I hope you get your cab interior either way. It is frustrating that here we are in the 21st century, and kits that were so easy to obtain a decade ago are becoming harder to come by. Outsourcing, limited runs, advance orders, etc., have changed the economics of this hobby a great deal.
