I have a set of fake crossings, non functional, I want add guard rail details for the diamonds. Can anyone suggest either a good way to make them or someone who makes track guard rail details in HO?
Thanks

Gidday, I made these guard rails out of Code 100 track which is the same as I’m laying. I should point out though that this will be unpowered track, so there will be NO electrical issues.
While not nearly as complicated as a diamond, I would consider using the same method if, and when, it arose, though I would take particular care to make sure that every thing was properly insulated to elimanate shorts. In saying that, I am making the assumption that when you say, Non functional, one set of track will still be alive.

JaBear did it quite nicely by bending actual rail and fabricating the guard rails. If you don’t want to do that, then you can buy pre-fab guard rails from Details West. They offer several varieties of guard rails numbered as Part No. SF-926 through SF-937. Here is a link to their general catalog where you can find these parts.

Thanks! I think with some rail bending and some of the detail parts I can make the cross look the way I need! I will post progress to let you all know.
Not all rail crossing diamonds are the same, so as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
I have tried to copy and paste a web page here that shows many different types used by real railroads, but this new software apparently does not allow the copy and paste of links.
Try typing “rail crossing diamonds” into your search engine, and then a site should show up with photos and diagrams of many different types of crossing diamonds – at least, Google does.
Just looking to add some of the plates that beef up the joints and some simple guard rails to make it look like something other than a peice of code 100 but up against another peice of code 100. I would of used a commercial crossing but the non functional track crosses to peices of curved track and I don’t have the skills to hand lay that type of trackwork.
