Guide book for getting hired by the railway

I came across this site the other day and it peeked my interest. This guy seems to have all the answers about being successful to get hired by the RRs. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this or purchased his book?

Do not get the book just apply on the company website take the testing (show up early) if you show up late you will not be admitted in the testing area. After finding out that you passed the testing and have an interview (show up early) durring the interview stress safety they love to hear that. And last but not least GOOD LUCK.

I agree with Rodney. The book is a waste of time and money. You need to make the effort to be early (not just on time) for the test and interview, wear “nice” clothes (no suits but for guys a pair of khakis and a shirt with a collar and no jeans) are fine. Be personable at the interview. Stress safety, commitment to the job, willingness to accept work when offered (even on a rainy saturday night) and if you have a military backgound or have worked in responsible jobs that require some discipline (law enforcement or fire service are good examples) stress those too.

Big hints,some mentioned.Go early to get a good seat.Come prepared with all your information.Have black pens.Listen very close to the directions,they will try to fool you.Hope you haven’t quit a job within 6 months prior to applying.Prepare to tell the interviewer (if you get that far) that you will give up nights,weekends,holidays,birthdays,…oh pretty much the rest of your social and active life.Believe me I’m done it the last 14 years and have 23 more to give up.[:(]

Hey Limitedclear.I wore a three piece suit to my hiring secession.I got there about 2am.I went inside the hotel waiting area so I wouldn’t fall asleep.When some of the other guys came in to sit down they asked me when I was going to start the hiring secession [:D].When I told them I was there to try and get a job,one of the guy’s that asked said, “I thought you was with the railroad”.So I told him,“No ,but I hope I am before I leave here”. True story !
