They run great and pull like a tank. Only one problem they haven’t been made in about 6 years, but not to worry they come up on eBay all the the time. East of the Miss, you have the Milwaukee Road one of Fairbanks biggest buyer. You also have the New York Central,Penn, AKC,Soo,CNW,Walbash,Santa Fe, CNJ,

Don’t forget UP and SP.

I have 2 of them. They do run real nice and have had no problems so far.

The Walthers H10/12-44 was originally designed and built by Roco in Austria. It has many parts in common with the Atlas S2/4 built be Roco at the same time. Later product was in China - no difference in design or quality. Very high quality switcher - will pull even more than the Atlas S2/4 due to it being heavier. DCC takes some machining of the frame.

You can not make generalized statements about Walthers branded locomotives because they have come from different sources over the years.

Canadian National had the H12-44 as well. I have Walthers Model 932-1311 (CN#1640) and have had for about 18 years and it has always run very well and as has been mentioned “pull like a tank”.
