I was watcing my Pentrex big boy video that features all 25 locomotives and one scene shows a big boy coupled with an F unit in front and I asked my son what kind of steam locomotive that was and he replied quickly “Big boy”, then he asked me “Daddy what is that big boy pushing?” I laughed out loud because he didnt realize the tiny diesel was assisting the big boy. But I would have to agree what is that Big boy pushing.
My son knows at least four different types of steam engines and is only 5 my daughter knows what a northern is and she is almost 3. I am teaching them just like my grandpa taught me. I still try to teach the Whyte system so my son will understand that not all northerns look alike.
