Had a great time at the train show today

My friend Steve and I attended the NMRA show in Danville, IN today. We both had a great time and we each bought a few things. The show was very well attended, unlike the Great Train Expo in Indy just over a month ago. Prices were also much more inline with the current state of things. I picked up a nice scratchbuilt grain elevator, a Hallmark FM H12-44 and a beat up Tenshodo USRA 0-8-0 that I can fix up easily. Hope anybody else here that went or went to another show had a great time. Hopefully this is a continuing sign, better attendance and folks spending money. Seems like the spring and early fall shows that I attended were poorly attended, little money changing hands and very unhappy dealers. Everybody today seemed positive and in good moods. And despite my stuffy nose becoming a full blown head cold over the coarse of the day, I had a great time, just was misriable on the long drive home! Mike

Feeling much better today, meds and a good nights rest does wonders. Here are my finds at the show. The 0-8-0 is running and all back together. Missing the lead boiler weight so it doesnt pull that well yet. Gonna have to get some sticky weights to ballest it down. The home road on the tender is growing on me, looks native american and has the initials interwoven in the state shaped hearld. Its also well done and isnt gonna come off easily. I touched up the nicked up factory black paint and since the pic, I numbered her 890. The FM switcher has wheel wear, but the PO never hooked up the factory installed lights, so I soldered them up and lubricated the drive. The motor is a mini version of the normal KMT block motor, but with a factory installed single lead flywheel. Cheers Mike
