Could I have a definitive answer as to this yard’s current condition. When I was stationed at Fort Bragg, 1955-1956, it was a great place to see action. I thought the yard was made into a flat yard or even eliminated completely after the merger. Anyone know its status today?
the yard is in good condition and sees alot of traffic also towards the end there is a hump yard so I would go to it if you have a chance.
FYI the Hamlet station is finished the painting and ect. and I beleve it is open for people to go in.

Hamlet is still active and seems to be busy. I do beleive it is a flat yard now. I haven’t been out there is a few years. The stations is open to visitors now. They had a dedication ceremony a while back IIRC.
It’s not flat it has hill’s but only the slope in the Hump Yard
