Does anyone know where I can get a set of handrails for a Bachmann Spectrum SD 45? I called the parts department at Bachmann and they said they did not have any and did not expect any in the future. All I need is the end handrails.

Your best bet may be to get hold of some handrails from another brand’s SD45 - I managed to replace damaged handrails on a Bachmann Dash 8 using a modified set from an Athearn Dash 9. Hope this is of use!

The handrail set from Athearn’s old Blue Box SD45 may work as the pattern is similar. AThearn Part # is ATH40035. Price is $6.75
Contact Athearn and see if the handrail sets are still available. I have a hard time navigating Athearn’s website, so I usually send them an e-mail and they actually respond within a couple of days.
Go to their home page at http://www.athearn.com and , click on “Contact Us”. You can then send an e-mail.
