Handy Dandy Light

The light at the end of the link is pretty handy. An electrician friend of ours is rewiring our house and using the “head” light has saved him from having to drag around a relatively heavy work light. http://www.energizer.com/products/flashlights/worklights/Pages/flexible-rubber-work.aspx The light in question is the 6 LED worklight. It takes 3 AAA batteries (included) which are supposed to last 50-70 hours.

With or without the additional help of a Magnifocuser, this light can be of great help in providing visibility to areas that might otherwise be shadowed by your head. The light is hinged, so you can move it to get the light where you want it.

I paid $16.97 + tax at Home Depot for mine. There are cheaper lights along the same line, but I’m really impressed with this one.

Wow, tough audience.

The light would be great both for working under the layout as well as for closeup work on a model under construction.

I’ll second Andre’s opinion!! I’ve had mine for some time - it’s even good for getting those tiny flanges back on the track!![swg]

Sounds good. Does it cause a glare on paper, because my desk lamp does. Could come in real handy at my work bench.

I don’t know about glare on paper yet although I expect not. I’m still discovering how versatile the thing is. It certainly is handy for working in cramped spaces.

Hi,

I have a couple of head lights that are of a different style but also with led’s. They work great. They are used above T-bar ceilings, or just about anywhere where it is dark. These lights can make a difficult job a lot easier and in my opinion they are a very worth while investment for any tool box. Also I use recharable batteries in them. The led’s work fine and the weight of the flashlights are not that great.

My son puts one around the neck of his large dog in the evening when they go camping. He can always tell where the dog is in the dark. Also, if you need to leave the campsite and take the pooch along, he will light up your way, saving you from carrying a light.

Yep! Almost as good as a third hand.

These are good too. You can hang them around your neck or wrap it around your arm.
