Hanging layout

Hi folks…
Over here from the Trains magazine forum…
Had a guy contact me, he is working at a museum and they want to hang a layout, or track, and suspend a model train from their ceiling…

I could have sworn I saw a add in Model Railroader a few issues ago for just such a concept…
anyone remember or know who it is?
Email me at
renaissance-man@sbcglobal.net if you do, and I will pass it on…

Thanks in advance for your help!

Ed

What scale? If it is O, S, or, G these guys have a hanging system:

Hope that will help!

Ed was the guy from Michigan? I had a guy email me last Friday asking a similar question, but haven’t heard back from him.

I think so…
anyway, I directed him to a few pro layout builders…although the project sounded like a lot of fun, something I would like to do myself…but way too much snow up there…I am quite used to life in the swamp!

Train284, I will forward your links to him, thanks for the pages.

Ed, I got an email back from him today, and replied again. He doesn’t know what scale he wants to use, but I have been trying to steer him toward G. I think that will be best for what he needs. He also may need to have a custom plexiglass work done. I’m not sure that an off the rack system is going to work for what he needs to do. I am trying to get some details out of him, but they are slow coming.

Another one is

I know of another one but I can’t remember the name…I’ll look around for it.

Refer the guy to Garden Railways magazine – there must be at least 20 companies advertise products for ceiling- and wall-mounted track.
