Happy Holidays

I’d like to wish all in the forums, and at MR Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Years![tup]

Thank You, and the same to you. May everyone have an enjoyable and safe holidays.

I belong to the local Lion’s Club and this year I was chairman for our annual Christmas tree sales.

I sold a tree to a family that belongs to one of the local churches. As they were leaving, I wished them a merry Christmas, then commented that maybe I was politically incorrect and should say “Happy Holidays”. The teen-aged daughter stared at me for a bit, stomped her foot on the ground and said, “I REFUSE to have a ‘Happy Holiday’! I’m going to have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

So, MERRY CHRISTMAS is shall be!

Darrell, not P.C. but quiet…for now

Merry Christmas, Darrell!..and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone on the Kalmbach fora!!

Darrell.

Merry Christmas to all and to all our Canadian Servicemen and those of our Allies, KEEP SAFE.

I don’t know If you have checked your calenders lately, but I have. Nowhere in the several calenders that I checked was there any “happy holiday day” or a “seasons greetings day” in the month of December. There was however a “Christmas Day” listed for December 25th.There was also a “Boxing Day”, a “New Years Day” a “Valentines Day” and numerous other days marked as “HOLIDAYS” with specific names given AND used. Why should Christmas be any different. My personal opinion is that if you celebrate Christmas, lets call a spade a spade and not a rake and wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS as my Jewish lawyer does to me and I wish he and his family a happy Hanukkah at this time of year.

To HE double hockey sticks with political correctness.

This is not mea

Just reply “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays” or whatever your preferred greeting is, and move on. No need to rant either way.

Merry Christmas, everybody.

The Japanese people celebrate what I refer to as. “Secular Christmas” - Santa Claus, Christmas tree, exchange of gifts, large (usually Western-style) dinner… I presume, but cannot prove, that the one Japanese in 200 who follows Christianity also includes Jesus. In mass market advertising, nary a sign.

New Year’s Eve/Day is different. The temple bells are rung with gusto (108 times) and people celebrate in the streets before going home to the traditional New Year’s meal. More than a few stay up all night.

To all here present, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, filled with hope, and joy, and love. Agemashite, O-medeto Gozaimas’.

To those who celebrate Christmas, I hope you have a great one.

To those who don’t, I still wish you a wonderful day on 25 December. May all of us still be around to celebrate a few more such occasions.
