Indeed,
I don’t know about you all, but in our family, we always have collard greens and other foods that represent things like money, health, luck, wisdom, and so on with our New Years Day meal.
I’m not a superstious person, but I did notice something. This past year, I did not have any greens, as I had to work, and the year was a terrible year, well, financially, anyway. So, this year I ate lots of greens. I’m not a big fan of greens, but as I was eating I visualzed something I wanted with each forkfull to make it go down. Like an MTH Railking N&W J, a ZW Transformer, and so on.
Happy New Years to all.

Pretty soon the holiday season will be over. Just one more party this coming weekend, to bring in 2008 in the Julian calendar with Russian friends. S Novim Godom!
Bob,
That’s really quite thoughtful of you. It’s a charming greeting rarely heard outside of the Russian community.
And so, from my favorite ethnic-group to everybody, Pox Nabisco! *
PS Sometime soon you really ought to do a primer on “quartering” drive wheels. I’ve read bits and snatches from you, which were most helpful; but I’d really like to see it all in one place, maybe in thesticky albeit under-utilized “How to/FAQ/Newbie” thread at the top of the “home” page. Or is there one there already? (That would be embarrassing!)
*Attributed to one Charles A. Taylor (whoever he is/was) and several of my jaded high school friends, one of whom was at MIT 1956-60. I wonder if you crossed paths with him?
