Some of you may find this interesting. I’ll quote from an article I just read.
“GET HAPPY - Australia has the world’s happiest retirees with Canada in second place. Belguim and New Zealand tied for third and the United States and the United Kindom next. The happiness rankings - from a survey of 9000 people in 15 countries by AXA Group, a financial services firm - placed Portugal dead last.” .
Judging from the tone of some of the postings on this forum from retirees living in these countries, I’d say the survey is propbaly pretty accurate.
Walt
Walt mate; I am so happy I could just sht, however I see a few things that help a lot as listed below in no particular order.
-
A good partner.
-
A close and supportive family
-
Good health
-
An active and satisfactory sex life.
-
Enough money to live and not just exist
-
A bright and happy outlook with ideas and interests for the future.
-
Variety and satisfaction in your relationship with your peers.
-
Live in a warm and relaxed climate. ie no cold weather, no pollution, little if any crime.
-
Own a comfortable and reliable means of transportation, where it is needed and own a comfortable house not an apartment or similar you can die in 6 months (through lackof interest and purpose) without a house to look after
-
Be active in yourself and don’t give in to the oldies diseas of “everything is too hard to do”.
