Back in '73, I was enjoying my Thanksgiving dinner on the Broadway Limited!
Amtrak_TG by Edmund, on Flickr
Thankfully, it was in a PRR twin-unit Budd diner, freshly cooked (not microwaved) and served on Amtrak china, with some PRR Mountain Laurel china still in use!
I’m thankful for our Model Railroader hosts to keep this forum going for us.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to those who have celebrated the day back in October.
Regards, Ed
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who are south of the border!!!
We Canucks did our Thanksgiving thing a month ago. Not sure why there is such a large difference in the celebration dates but it really doesn’t matter a hoot. Have a great time! Don’t overdo it!! Enjoy the leftovers!!! (including the good feelings!)
Cheers all!!!

No family this year. One daughter is in Seattle, one is with her in-laws, and the youngest has to work.

Mary and I are off to the beach! It is supposed to be 72 degress with a gentle breeze, perfect beach weather. The Hooters on the beach is open today. Chicken wings instead of turkey.

Gmpullman - $4.50 for Dinner! Thats outrageous. [dinner]
Well — that’s $24.18 in today’s dollar. Still, for Amtrak, not too bad [:^)]
Cheers! Ed
I remember Thanksgiving 1974 while on submarine duty in the U.S.Navy. The cooks had turkeys in the oven. One of them started smoking and the Supply Officer, a boot Ensign, happened to be in the galley. He grabbed a chemical fire extinguisher instead of the CO2, opened the oven and started spraying. After the cooks got everything cleaned up, our Thanksgiving dinner was delayed and served with “canned ham”.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. A special shout to those serving or did. They make our country safer and my kids quieter sleepers.
Kevin: I hope they aren’t serving other parts of a bird at Hooters!
Happy Thanksgiving to all! [dinner]
Tom Turkey lucked out this year… We had venison stew this year with cornbread…[dinner]
The down side is this feast cost my youngest brother in law insurance around $4500.[:O]

Everything turned out great. Our waitress was wonderful, and Thanksgiving Dinner was one of the best ever.
