Harassment suit against UP’s Dickens dismissed
Dickens must be a prick, I mean 2 cases filed against him, just because one case was dismissed, doesnt mean it didnt happen.
“It’s hard to find good help”
Make that 3 cases
Never happened when railroaders were all men.
Norton,
“when railroaders were all men.”
When was that?
Women have been railroaders continuously since the Pearl Harbor attack.
The other case, I find that one highly suspicious…not saying that stress can’t increase ones chance of getting diabetes, but causing it directly…that I find, laughable. Everyone that works anyone needs to remember one thing, you don’t have to like the people you work with or for, you just have to work with them. Is it possible to work in a hostile environment…yes, if you do your job and stop worrying about what everyone else says and does…personal responsibility.
Where does it say that the boss must please all their employees? If the job is so terrible, feel free to find another. Is this another deal where the tail is trying to wag the dog. My great grandfather went to work for the railroad in 1890, he hired on for a six day a week job, the seventh day he was expected to wipe and clean the engine, his own time. He hated it so much he was finally forced, bad hip, couldn’t climb up into the cab any longer, to retire in 1940 from the Santa Fe. He loved his job, I have his final book and way tickets, wish I had his bibs and cap, and had a recorder to have a record of all the stories he told me.
The fact that two cases have been filed against this guy is something to raise an eye brow about. The negligence to the 844 has been eye opening too.
Steve Lee needs to come back. Now.
Steve Lee is very happy-fully retired! Yes, we need more people like him and Lynn Nystrom & Bob Krieger, but we’ll just have to wait for the next generation to come up to bat. I too, have heard rumors about Mr. Dickens and his relationships with other employees and his handling of 844. I’m sure the eyes of management are watching him very closely right now. Just waiting & watching…
ED Dickens has too go what a *** We need Steve Lee to come Back Now it is “time”
