HARD AT WORK : part two

Hi from Belgium,

After a fifteen days working proccess, everything outside under a good sun , as I mentionned in my topic “Hard at work : part one” I just finished the first 27 turnouts for the east side of my future yard of my Maclau River.

Following are a few pictures of it.

I am not sure to build the double crossover.

I was inspired by a track plan published in MR about a Santa Fe yard. It is interesting because it’s two yards in one with the possibility to work the two ladder alone or togheter.

Obviousely, the double crossover will serve on the Santa Fe an exchange with a branch line which I am not sure to do, so I didn’t know about him.

Still to do is the trowbar of the turnouts and the cutting gap so they are DCC friendly.

I put a few piece of track I had on hand on a table to see if everything is going ok.

All the turnouts are code 55 made with a n°6 and curved n°8 Fastrack jigs.

Dude, that Turntable, aka “The Plate” rocks!! LOL That is the best mock up device I’ve ever seen.

Some very nice work. I hope to be “back in the saddle” here shortly as I’m done with coaching for the summer and school just started back up so I will hopefully have some free time again!
