Harsco supplies track equipment to Tasrail
It has taken Australia a long time, far too long, to work out that even if the railroad is not hauling coal or iron ore it is still important. TasRail is a small and isolated system but it is a significant factor needed to maintain and grow the island economy and this investment in maintenance is an important place to start.
It’s great to see Tasrail take a truly positive step toward the future.
Equipment like this, along with quantities of concrete sleepers and new rail (and some new Locomotives and rolling stock also on the way) are long overdue.
I must admit to a complete lack of knowledge about Tasmania’s railways. I’ll have to remedy that soon.
