Best bang for the buck in large scale.

I have several that have been the basis for kitbash projects, they are very reliable, pull better than you would think for thier size, and are the most affordable decent hard working engine on the market today by far.

Scale might be a little on the small side for 1/20 fans, but thats what razorsaws and sheet styrene was invented for. These are immensly bashable lokies and can be made into any variation of small critter, boxcab, switcher, or tram engine. I’ve even used them for several steam tram bashes.

Got mine today. Runs great!

I bought two of these little jewels, painted and lettered them for my road. When hooked together they span far enough to pick up juice and run smoothly, and power, you wouldn’t believe it.

Now retired and on a limited hobby budget but wanting to start model railroading again I am going to construct an outdoor railroad on my balcony. My basement here in Germany is just too small as I have decided to model in Large Scale. It will consist of a 28 foot long point to point mainline with room on each end for small industries to provide some switching.

My first piece of motive power will be the Hartland Mack switcher. The reviews are all positive and the retail Nice Price is perfect for limited budgets. What’s best of all: It is Made in the USA, just right for a Texan living a long long ways from home!

Priced just right, built rugged and runs like a champ. On top of that it’s made in the USA.
