While browsing the many offerings it is impossible to resist temptation and start to bid on items. [}:)] The next day is when reality sets in you check your account and find yourself the proud new owner of a locomotive(s), building(s) or freight cars, etc.

Yes that has happened to me, and a PROTO DCC/Sound E6 A/B Southern Tennessean magically appeared at my house a few days later. What is really funny is I also have N & W class J and these two engines shared the same passenger route. Not sure how this happened but it was meant to be. Then I looked up the price and saw I got for 130 delivered and the stores want 179 to 240 for it. Oh well I am working over the holidays to keep the duckets rolling in. Ever seen the mars light on a PROTO? Turn the lights out and it is so cool.
I don’t negotiate my purchases via auction, outerworld or online. I also don’t drink much, perhaps four drinks in a week, and never more than two at one go. Well, almost never. Once or twice I have been just enough over the edge that when I went downstairs to run trains I soon realized that you can’t drink and drive in the basement neither.

Funny you should mention that…so did I…[xx(] That Life-Like tanker never was the same after the first time it went around that first sharp curve a tad bit faster than it should have and went to that great beyond we engineers call the floor.
Yep! Bid on 9 seperate locomotives one night. Fortunately I only won one and it was a good deal. (haven’t had a drink in a year[:-^])
I did similar on a fairly rare bluegrass album some years ago-bid it up to $200+ & still lost-& the sad thing was I WASN’T drinking when I did it! Looking back now, I’m glad I lost that one-ended up finding another for $65. Still too much I suppose, but I had been looking for that album for about 15 years-only 2 copies of it in these parts I knew of, both owned by DJs. I quickly copied it. to CD & then MP3, & the album put away.
Oops-OT-refocus-TRAINS! I did bid up an OOP Atlas PRR PS 2 bay covered hopper almost 2 years ago that I needed for a forum weathering challenge. almost $40, & then the seller decided to offer 2 more identical at a low Buy It Now price. I was the high bidder at the time, so naturally my competing bidders grabbed those & fled the scene, leaving me high & dry. [banghead] Looking back, I’m sure if the buyer doing that may have violated Ebay policies, but oh well, in the past now. I weathered the car, entered it in the challenge, & then put it up for sale on Ebay. I then encountered the buyer from H**L, but that’s another story. [sigh]
E-bay and beer, hum? Well not the best idea but I got a lot of cool stuff froming being a little Hammred. I am a power buyer and have spent around $32,000.00 in 4 years. Mainly HP Mopar engine parts and High End Stereo Gear.
If it was not for Beer there is a 95% chances I would not have got into this hobby!

I’ve made a few purchases while having a beer or 12 while on Ebay. The house I own now was also bought while under the influence, lol. My wife kept feeding me the beer and out of the blue says, Lets go look at this house I saw on the internet. She drove us down to look at it and to my surprise a sales agent was there waiting for us, lol. I still say she had it planned. Well she got her way and we put in a offer and it was accepted.

LOL, now that thar is jus plain funny! Actually I haven’t done that. I usually play poker online after club nite is over. FREEROLL tournaments; free to play, real prize at the end.
