What about Macintosh compability, do you leave us in the dark? We are model railroaders too. Everything worked at the old forum, now I have all kind of problems. I can’t post pictures, I can’t quote, I can’t use smilies… No hat off from me, not yet.

Why don’t you use spell check that comes with GOOGLE. It can be on the tool bar along with this page and will check anything you type.

I haven’t decided yet how well I like the forum. (If I decide I don’t like it, will they return to the old forum? I think NOT!) Like anything new, I will have to get used to it. Once I learn more about the new forum features, I will enjoy the visits more.
One thing that DOES bother me is that I have NOT received a reply to EITHER of the two e-mails I sent. The first one was regarding problems getting re-registered. I was able to do that on my own, but only by using a secondary e-mail address. I don’t check that e-mail often, so the messages will be old when I get to them.
Which was the subject of my second e-mail, namely, how do I change my e-mail address BACK to my primary e-mail? I tried to do that after I got re-registered, but I’m informed that that e-mail address is already in use. I know it’s in use, IT’S MINE FROM THE ORIGINAL FORUM! So it’s in use, but I can’t access it! Kind of a Catch 22 situation.
And NOBODY has seen fit to answer EITHER e-mail. That is the part that bothers me most.
Maybe it will improve, but, as of now, I’m not holding out much hope for it.

I have decided to like the forum a little better.
Since my last post (what, like 10 minutes ago?) I received a reply to my e-mails!! AT MY REGULAR E-MAIL ADDRESS! The situation has been resolved to my TOTAL satisfaction. Erik and Michelle have taken care of the problems I had!
I was a little hesitant to try the new log-in, but everything went well.
I will join the throngs of supporters tipping hats to Bergie (and Michelle!).
Now I can spend my time learning more about the new changes and how to use them!

It is good to see some positive comment re the new forum. There is plenty of downside in other places.
- I get the impression that people who use Macs are having trouble.
- I have not had much success using the search facility.
- Seems to me that posting photos is harder than it used to be.
Nevertheless I don’t have too many gripes and as a number of people have commented it appears to load faster than the old one.
Just a question. Why did you put your thread here in the forum about Layouts and Layout Building? Seems to be more of a general discussion type topic. No big thing though.
I left to go out of town 3 days before the switch, and came back, about 4 days after. I got to miss all the hoopla and fun. I have been told t was quite roit the first few days. All in all, I really like the new forum. Got some cool tricks which are a nice bonus over the older version. Good job Guys. I know it must have been a pain.
