looks like a bomb went off
took me years to get to the point I was at and the only good thing is I did not smash things but I did rip a few things up and tossed out a few of my favorite things right in the trash
guess I just lost it
I’ve done that many times. I just get tired with the way something looks and I rip it all out and redo it.
hey jeff
thats cool but I was not sick of it I was just making progress
I think I lost out on this one big time
you never know how good you have it till its all gone
Ken
Now you have to rebuild it. Don’t try to rebuild it like it was, because you’ll never be able to. Rebuild it in the same style and you’ll come up with some great ideas along the way.
Awww Ken… What got into you man ?. That’s why the doctor said to take the medication every day…
Actually, I think we’ve all done things like that we regret. Mine was when I took my perfectly good Western Pacific Mikado and made it into a Southern Pacific about a year and a half ago… I did a good job and all, but I wished I hadn’t done it the next day. It finally started eating on me so much that I sold it on ebay and bought another Western Pacific…

heck I guess your both right
I have a clean slate to work with
people do funny things
ouch…
Just work it into the ‘history’ of your model railroad as a major natural disaster. [:D]
Nope not that bad, but I have torn out sections before. -dekruif
don’t sweat it…i’ve built and torn down 6 layouts in the past …mostly because of a move…each time, they get better than the last one built. Chaulk it up to a learning curve…chuck
Very wise words here. Why did you do what you did, Bud? Just cuz you were having a bad day? Well, even if that was the root cause, something about what you were looking at set you off, and that should tell you something.
Don’t look back. You didn’t like it, it’s gone, now figure out and generate something that will make you smile. This could be a great learning experience for you.
Oh yeah, the urge is there at times, especially when there are recurring problems. But focus your anger on taking care of whatever the problem area is, and try not to lose it. But this way you can start over and figure out what might have gone wrong the first time that made you do this. When I become frustrated, I give myself a few days off from the layout and go back and calmly approach things. At least until something happens and I get pi**ed off again.
