Headlight wiring for Athearn Genesis

I did get the LED to light, using a front output tab and one on the side of the decoder. The latter tab, which already has a wire connected, could be for the motor (looking at the diagram). The issue now is the light won’t go off. It glows fairly bright with the Headlight button “on” and glows fainter with the button “off” or with the loco in reverse.

He might want to try the 3V version of these, which only draw 20 mA:

Yeah, I thought about that as a possibility. He may not want to do that though now that he has bought those higher voltage LEDs.

Yeah, that is the problem if you tap Into the motor. I wonder if it would work if you tapped into the track power.
