Headlights/Windsheilds ? for crews

Saw a pic of new UP SD70ACe 8310. It had blinders under the headlights and a rectangular windsheild. Just curious what you crewmembers prefer. Headlights on top or in the nose/rect. or teardrop windsheilds?

i like it in the nose… puts more light down on the rails in fronnt of you then the lights up high…thier is a noticable differnce in how much you can or cant see with the headlights in differnt locations… even with ditchlights…its still notiacable…

I like the high lights better. They seem to reflect less light back at you. The windshield type does not matter to me. They both have good visibility, at least for running down the road. None of the wide cab engines have good sight lines for yard moves though.

I’ve been on a few…(don’t tell the feds) and I know from what little experience I have…those tapered wide noses don’t offer much visibility of crew members on the step…I would guess high lights are better…not as much back in your face…and I would have no clue about windshield shape…If it’s anything like a Gensis unit’s windshield…it totally sucks.
