I have a Rivarossi 2 truck Heisler (5618-C) that I would like to convert from DC to DCC, and it looks like a formidable project. Has anyone done this and if so, what decoder did you use?
Yup… I used the small one from NCE (N14PR??) … it is great. Of note, you can get a short where the 6 pins go into the female portion (underside of the board). So unless you plan to cut the board out, put some insulating tape under the board and pins… then it worked like a charm (after I fried a decoder the first time!!!)

Don’t the “newer” models have a 9 pin plug?? I was lead to believe this was the case…
