Hello, newbie with a "where to get?" question.

First of all, I would like to say Hello and say that I have enjoyed reading some of your posts.

I have recently caught the O gauge bug and have been doing a lot of research and question asking and have decided on a new Lionel set. I am interested in the Keystone Super Freight set #6-30000. I chose this set because of the features for when I get serious about the hobby.

The problem is is that I am having a hard time finding a place to get the set for a decent price and I figured you folks would be able to help me out. I will be using the local places for all the accessories, cars, and track, but no one has a set in stock and if they do, it’s over suggested retail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Robert

Here you go, trainworld has it for $385. Trainworld is a reputable dealer and you should have no trouble with them. Plus thier prices are great!

[#welcome] to the forum and have fun!

Thanks! Yea, I ran across that in my search and thought it was a good price also. I just didn’t want to jump at something too quickly in case there were better deals to be had. I figured you guys would know of someone with “the killer deal” . I would’ve been kicking myself if I had just impulsively bought something and then came here and realized I could of gotten it much cheaper. Anyone else?

Robert

Trainworld is pretty much the cheapest deal around. Although you may want to check ebay before you buy it. Surprisingly though, a lot of times items on ebay go for more than trainworld charges. I guess some enterprising MRR could use that to his advantage, buy on trainworld, sell on ebay. Although I think that would be a risky buissiness.

Here’s a direct link to your trainset…

Hope this helps!

You might get more responses if you posted this in the Classic Toy Trains forum on Trains.com. That’s where the to train collectors hang out.
