May I recommend you also check out the Magazine side of the “Trains” forums. Whole lot more activity on the 6 “Trains Magazine” forums, the “General Discussion” forum is at:

But there are also specific forums for “Steam”, “Locomotives”, “Transit”, “Passenger” and “Trackside”… see:
