I would like to kitbash a n scale BC Rail GF 6 Electric, but have no idea where to start. This will be my first attempt to kitbash anything and would like all the help and suggestions that I can get. I’ve got a few pictures and a dvd with them on it and I’m planning a trip this spring to the PG Rail Museum to get more detailed ones. I believe an Atlas sd-60m would make a good starting point for a chassis. I’m hoping to find on ebay a resin shell for a dash 9 44c, but failing this any ideas? Shawn.
Hi,
I realize at present a model of this locomotive with a software of 3D construction with the aim of a construction by 3D printing or by stéréolythography. You can see my work at the following address. : http://us.leforum.eu/t2799-Construction-locomotive-electrique-GF6C.htm.
You need the frame of SD40-2 to build this locomotive.
Good visit.
Those images make it look like an SDP40F would make a most reasonable starting point - you’d even get a very close cab and cooling fan, as well as ends and frame.
