[?] Im wondering what size wire to run on my bus lines
starting out on dc knowing in a couple of months im gonna go dcc
so i wanna run heavy enough wiring for dcc
can i get some help here [?]
i was guessing 16mm
is this too large

Depending upon the size of your layout, you should use either #14 or the heavier gauge #12 wire. #12 gauge wire is typically used in homes for all appliance circuits and is rated to carry 20amps, #14 gauge is rated to carry 15 amps.
You should be able to get by with nothing larger than 18 gauge stranded speaker wire. That’s what we used on the Cochise & Western Model Railroad Club’s 20x40 foot HO-scale layout, and we have had no electrical problems because I wired it with feeds at every flex-track joint, and the layout is divided into 4 power districts for both DCC and DC operation.
