I just purchased the K-Line Dump Truck Construction Scene (K-42414), set it up and it does not work. Anyone know potentially what the issue may be??
I am going to assume that it was wired correctly, since it only takes two or three wires to power, so I would suggest that since it was “just purchased”, return it for replacement or repair.
I don’t have this particular accessory. But I know from others, there usually is a small DC motor with a cam or gear arrangement, with a circuit board that allows the DC motor to operate from AC current from a typical transformer. Some of these accessories can be sensitive to proper voltage posts from the AC transformer, so be sure you have connected the ground wire to the proper place and the hot wire likewise.
If you have a small DC transformer or a low voltage DC power adaptor - or even a 9 volt batter, you could try by passing the circuit board and touch a couple wires to the DC motor itself and see if that works. That’ll at least eliminate the motor as the cause. This would mean the problem is either in the circuit board or in the wiring leading into or out of it.
Another suggestion would be to give a service tech at Brassear a call. Here’s a link for their website:

PS: I hope the link opens in a new window. I set it up that way, but I don’t like the new format of this forum as it gives me a lot of trouble on my computer. Brasseur is handling all the original K-Line parts and repair service. If this is an original K-Line accessory, you will not get warranty service. But it is also possible that wires were connected to the wrong places at the factory (that has happened before to other products). So maybe someone at Brasseur can talk you through this.

OK, I’m trying this again after trying to edit the previous post a couple of times. I can fully understand anybody’s frustration with computer technology. I clicked on the “link” symbol above, and then get the separate box which indicates whether to open in the same window or a new window. I chose new window, and it didn’t work on the previous post.
Modern technology is wonderful. But with all the problems I have with my normal computer and trying to do things like this, it just adds to the ever growing list of reasons why I will NEVER put any kind of digital command system on my train layout.

I run trains for FUN, not frustration. And very often after dealing with computer problems, I go run some trains with my never fail conventional control to forget about all the frustrations I’ve just encountered. Hmmmm, right now could be one of those times! [:D]
