I need some help with what to use for snow. I have a nice tall mountain in the cornor of the layout and I decided to put some snow on the top. The problem is That I can’t get a snow line using the powder spray snow(christmas stuff). Any suggestions on how to make it not look like a lot of white dust[:(]

I belive woodland scenics makes white ground foam and markets it as snow. But a cheaper and better-looking option is baking soda. Id like to see some pictures of your mountain, Ive never seed a modeled snow-capped peak.
WS also makes an excellent granular snow in the shaker bottle.
For your spray stuff, I suggest placing some cloths or paper towels (wet if that would help to form them) with their edges forming the perimeter of the ice/snow field. Make sure the edges are quite close to the surface, and then spray from a few inches above with the nozzle directing the jet vertically downward. You might try pinning the covering materials near their edges if that will get them closer and staying there. The idea is to keep a clean, sharp edge as close to the surface to be covered as possible. Otherwise, you end up with a hazy edge.
Thanks selector, that gr8 idea, I can’t post any pics yet JPM335, maybe later.

I’ve heard of people using flour, but NEVER DO THAT!!! it can mess up your locos
As it turns out, I could use a bru***o make a snow line. it worked well. I couldn’t turn the can on its nose, only hot air can out then. The christmas spray snow, (we use it when we’ve got 40 degree[centigrade, bout 110F] in chirstmas), is quite powder-like, but has some form of adheasive. It’s used for x-mas trees and window decoration, but can be removed easily, great for if you want to experiment or have it as a temporary change of scenery. I did caus it’s meant to be the snow season, but none of it is falling close enough. [8D][8D][:D][;)][(-D]
