I have lookes at all sorts of books and they all mention wiring blocks. i really whatn to make it so i can wire it so i can park an engin in an area and not have it run wile i run another heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllppppppppppppppp[?][?][?][[?][?][:)]

The easiest way for block control (which I have on my layout) is to attach insulating joiners to both rails at the entrance to a block. Wires from the track are fed through a DPST (Double Throw Single Pole) switch, then to the power buss. Thus you can achieve your blocked areas with an engine parked, without it running while you run another.

First I’ll have to assume your talking about DC control. There is alot of ways to do it. This is how I did it. I used insulated joiners about every 3-4 feet. I am using dual cab control.I installed SPDT toggles to isolate blocks.Run one leg off each cab to a common feed to one side of the track.Run the other leg of cab 1 to the outer post on the switch, run other leg of cab 2 to the other outer leg of the switch.Run the middle post of the switch to the other side of the track in each block, making sure polarities are correct.
now you can energize each cab and switch the cab power to which block you want.And make sure the SPDT switches have a “center” off postion. With center off postion you can isolate blocks, so one train parked and the other one running.
