Help Identifying Pan Am "OCS" coaches

As some of you may know from other threads I am interested in modeling Pan Am. I need some help identifying the coaches in the business train. Can anyone point me towards some HO coaches that would work?

Also can anyone ID or point me in the right direction. Who owned these cars before Pan Am/Guilford?

Rapido’s new FP9A’s will work great for the power.

A Google search yields the following (extensive) thread on the topic on the first page of results:

From that thread:

A few more specifics on the business cars:

ST 100 was DH 100. D&H purchased it from Norfolk & Western in 1976. Its original number was NW 102.

ST 101 was ST 43, and before that was DH 43. D&H purchased it from Denver & Rio Grande Western in 1967. Its original number was DRGW 1290. Previous name was Champlain, and before that, Castle Gate.

Hat-tip to cuyama for the background info. At one point, car sides were available for D&RGW 1290/Castle Gate. Info in this message:

Colorado Rail Annual #9 has an article on The Prospector, including floorplans for #1290 as built.

Thanks cuyama for the info.

Thanks to you too Mike.

So, these two new offerings from Walthers would work. They are very close for ST101. The undercar would need work. So a few mods will need to take place.

Anyone with any ideas for ST100?

Still trying to nail down a model for ST100. ST101 is a Pullman Standard. So is 100 a Pullman Standard or Pullman Heavyweight.? Can’t find a model with the right roof.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Just reread the post and found NW100 (not 102) but close enough.

Can anyone id a model or at least who the manufacturer is and type of car?

Okay I haven’t had much luck finding a model of the prototype.

How about this, anyone have any ideas about two different coach models that I could kit bash into one correct coach?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Just an update, I had put this on the back burner because I could not find a model of the prototype and advise was thin.

In the May issue, Matt Snell on page 52 gives a good how to and materials list to kitbash a business car. This was the how to I was looking for. I knew I would have to kitbash but was unsure how/where to start.

So thanks Matt for giving me the confidence to continue the project.
