Help locating a service

What I am looking for is information about getting custom decals made for my Fictional railraod. I would like to get the lettering for South Massey RR done in gold and a few different sizes for my different locos and freight cars. I am also thinking about making a herold as well but have not decided on that yet. Does any one know who I could contact for this servise? Either decals or even printing right onto the painted bodies of my locos. I live in Norfolk, VA area and close would be the best but not required.

I currently have been using dry transfer but I am not liking the results. I can only use one set per side because of all the “S”'s used, and I dont like how they dont go into the grooves like a decal does after you put the setting solution on them. Please help!!

Try Rail Graphics… Can’t find the website right now ( don’t remember the link) but they’re out there somewhere… Over in the Layout forum there was a thread a few weeks back about custom printing your own decals… The rail graphics info came out of that thread…

edit: Found it…

http://www.railgraphicsdecals.com/ (simple name eh??)

I also had contacted Microscale about the same thing but they want a small fortune and require a huge production run unless they can fit what you want into the blank space of another decal sheet… I’m not quite sure how that all works but I know both of them Do custom work…

Good luck,
Jeff

Great thanks!! this looks like the stuff I need. I want my locos to look real and not sloppy. My railroad is small and does not have alot of money to make a fancy paint scheme like the BNSF and the other big roads but I didnt want the spacing on the letters to be all sloppy like I was having them turn out.

Thanks again for the help

I produce my own decals with an ink jet printer, using an Epson photo printer, actually look very good, Did special emblems for my Short line as well as SP daylight drumhead emblems in orange & white less than 1/4 inch in size yet can read them clearly.
