I need to build a helix to get trains to upper level of layout I cant seem to find my benchwork book that had some ideas in it can you all help me in building this difficult but nesscasary thing???
I found this quite helpful when I built my last one.
I’m thinking of using one of these on my new layout - a little pricey but looks to save a lot of work.
I also looked into the products from easyhelix.com, but if your helix plan isn’t the exact same size as what they sell, you’re out of luck. They have no way to modify the fixed radii that they sell.
For my layout, their radii were too small for my design.

Even though we haven’t quite finished out first layout, we’re starting to think about our next one… learning from our mistakes, etc… Having a way to get multiple levels on a small layout is something that has some interest for us, so easyhelix was a way to get through dad’s (me) ineptitude when it comes to major power tools and piles of wood. Has anyone looked at easyhelix for n-scale?
Here’s another good example of helix construction:

Clutch73, you are building a multi-level layout!!! You are, indeed, in bad need of help!!!
Here is a few shots of my helix, 24.5 and 27.35 rad Used 3/4 ply as it was free, (roofing job short cuts) cut in quarter turns, routed slots for wire feeds, if interested e mail me…John
