Help me spend my birthday present!

For my birthday (5/30) I recieved a $125 gift card for Home Depot. Obviously there is much more than $125 worth of goodies waiting for me there, so I’ve been looking on their website to try to figure out what I’m going to get.

Here goes!

Dremel 400 Series XPR Rotary Tool Kit W/4 Attachments, 41 Accessories $79.97

I have a working old 395 series 5. I origionally wanted just a flexshaft, but why not upgrade! I could use the circle cutter, cutting guide, bits and upgraded rotary tool. The $99 kit has attachments that I would be less likely to use verses this one.

Dremel 200 Pc. Accessory Kit $29.99

I can always use extra bits! Also want to try the new ez-lock.

Dremel 7 Pc Drill Bit Set $9.47

I’m not sure that any of the above contains these bits. I think they would come in handy.

$119.43 * 1.055 (Tax) = $126.00 (it can’t get much closer that that! [(-D])

Anyone have any suggestions?

I also wanted some 2-26 ($??.?? couldn’t find it on the website) and

Most fortunate for you sir, I am in position to help with your request. Please send check and all banking information to Motumbo Mutachakabungo, P.O.Boc 4789247, Lagos, Nigeria.[:D]

Calipers: Harbor Frieght digital 6":

is excellent; bought one for train use five or six years ago - works great, and recently bought six for work.

Home Depot: Do you already have a power mitre box? Materials for a layout expansion? Storage cabinet / drawers for parts.

That’s perfect! I wanted a digital calipers instead of a dial, and not to shabby of a price.

I’ve got a mite box, drills, circular saw, jig saw, sawzall, shop vac, etc… (everything but an air compressor) My layout is under construction. I have the table (about 11x12) and working on the base scenery. No cabinets, but I’ve got tool boxes for hobby tools, and more storage in the garage for all of the other tools.

For conversion between mm and standard, digital calipers are the way to go. For non-conversion measuring, I prefer dial or analog calipers because a dial shows more subtlety than the digital LCD screen does. (And you don’t need batteries! [^])

Even so, either type is good and will give you enough accuracy for MRRing.

I like the dial too… darn kids nowadays can’t even read a non-digital clock [:D] Just kidding!!! Naw, digital would be nice, but I have a good analog, so… if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it… Have fun shopping…

Don’t have an air compressor? Some HD’s may have a neat Porter Cable small twin tank compressor, with hose and brad gun for $79!! If you already have a Dremel, just get the 29.95 access kit - most Dremels will only last 25 or 30 years![:D]
