Ok, I finally got an OK from Bergie and with the forum’s permission, I’d like to invite those who haven’t already PM’ed me, to take this brief survey on our hobby.
This data will be part of my report this semester for my marketing class. I thought it would be fun to mix business with pleasure.
Please don’t take the survey more than once (I’ll know) as it will make harvesting accurate data that much harder. If you’d like an update, please PM me and I’ll be happy to get you one. On the home page, you can see how many people took the survey and you can see the results after you take it.
Thanks for your indulgence and help in this. Wish me luck and an “A”. [:)]
Well, I’m in there now. Though I’d check the what is your motive power? as technically, I run all three and didn’t see that option. but the electric department is still very small.
Some nice results [tup] hopes yours are just as good.
I believe this is the one I filled out for you a week or so ago, so I’ll not over weigh your results by re doing it, but I would like to wish you good luck with you course!
Yes good luck. This is a clever way to approach a class project. Just remember that your sampling is rather small and drawn from a select subgroup of the population when you create probabilities charts.
Thanks ever so much for your help so far…man, it’s taking off. I’ve got 222 responses so far (11:00 PM MST). I’m hoping for 500…I think that would be a good sampling. And the responses are comming from all over the place…Japan and the UK to name a couple.
Scoot…thanks my friend…PM me with a clean bill of health soon, huh?
LSN RR…I noticed the flaw way too late to correct it. I’ve put a bunch of thought into it and I don’t think it would be possible to do something like this and not make a mistake or leave something out. I’m hoping that the people who don’t have layouts now (80% yes/20% no right now), would continue in their “planning” train of thought to finish answering the questions. In your case, I hope you answered likewise.
Drilline, I’m suprised how quickly DCC is catching up to DC and how many other sources of powering there still are out there.
Back to the report…I never explained what I’m using the data for. I have 3 weeks to submit the report. I’m going to take a new release of an item from a company (not decided as of yet…any suggestions?..PM them, please. I don’t want this thread pulled [:)]), and use the data to “market” the item.
Again, thanks to everyone who participated, and if you haven’t as of yet (remember, no duplications…PM me for an update if you’re interested and I’ll get it back to you with it), here’s the link again:
luvadj, You and I discussed a few weeks back via email some of the “issues” of the limited multiple choice answers given. Perhaps after you have your project completed you would be willing to tweak the existing survey so that it would contain the choices needed to give correct answers for those of us without a layout and allow us to participate again as a forum only survey?
Ken…you know, I’d love to. I think the things we talked about are valid and hopefully after this semester is over and the forum is willing, I’d like to try and run it for the forum only.
Interesting!! Also interesting is the fact that I’m the one guy in this town who is on this forum as far as I know. There is a club here with about ten active members, none of whom communicae on this forum plus a bunch more guys who don’t belong to a club but are still buying up model train stuff. I know 'cause I used to work at the hobby shop. This is a town of 36,000 in a rural area, so theres a few guys in the outlying towns too. I’m not sure what my point is,I’m just sayin.
