I recently had time to get to work on repowering an old Athern Gp9. I know, its strange to invest in an old model. I spent many hours detailing this and repainting it to LV livery back in the 80’s. Having ordered the aline repower kit, I was ready to snap everything in place when I discovered you need flywhell cement. Who knew? Since Aline only accepts a minimum order of $39, I don’t want to spend that much for a $4.50 tube of cement. Anybody have a good suggestion for an alternative?
J B Weld, available at practically any big box or automotive supply store, should work just fine.
Red loctite is what ppw is selling.
I like to use any 5-minute epoxy, it gives you plenty of time to position the flywheel on the motor shaft.
I use regular ol’ CA. Holds the flywheel, but I can still get it off if needed.
Thanks everyone, I’m on my way to Lowes.
