Is there anyone in the Tombstone, Arizona area that would like to help in working on a layout that is in HO scale.
The areas that I would like to get help in would be: scenery work, lighting work, such as in buildings and street lights.
That would enjoy working on the layout. I have most of all the supplies required. The only thing that is requested is love of labor for working on model railroad layouts and get the satisfaction of getting something done.
Also, am always open to any other suggestions in working on the layout and how to perform the necessary tasks.
If you would like to drop me a line to get more information on the layout, you can reach me at my email address of: azrr42@cis-broadband.com.
In case no one from your area happens to see this and respond you could try one of the following.
Go to the top of this page, the faint gray line, click on RESOURCES, then on Model Railroad Groups. Click on all groups and enter your state. There are many groups listed, but I don’t have a map to tell me which ones might be close to you.
You can do the same with Coming Events, also under RESOURCES. There you can enter your zip code and number of miles you would be willing to travel to a train show.
You could also leave your name at your local hobby shop. Tell them you would like to be contacted by other modelers. This way you do not ask them to tell you who buys model rr stuff from them, which some might concider a breech of ethics.
Hopefully at one of the above you could find someone or someone who knows someone in your area.
I’m not trying to make light of your request, but have you considered trying it yourself? That’s really half the fun of the hobby. I’ve certainly tried a lot of things I didn’t think I could do. I did most of them pretty badly at first, but I got better quickly as I tried different techniques or practiced them.
That said, if you don’t find anyone to work on your layout, you might try hiring someone. The pages of MR magazine are usually filled with ads for people who will design and / or build your layout for you. The only drawback is that they ain’t cheap!
