The lovely town of Hooterville was, of course, fictional, as sad as it may be to admit, and not located any place in particular–although apparently the set was right next door to the set for the Beverly Hillbillies.

thanks for your imput that helps me out perfectly

rollieman your a big help. keep on rolling on down the line[:D]

some parts were good but are there any track plans on that [^]

still derailed

I just check out somthing for someone looking for the Back to the Future 3 loco. It’s the same loco that was used in both shows.(and about 100 others) It now lives in a California railway museum.I don’t have the link right now, but I’ll find it ina few hours and send to you.

And if my memory serves me correctly, Mantua offered up their Rogers ten-wheeler as #8, the Hooterville Cannonball, during the late 1960’s, complete with a couple of shortly passenger cars that resembled those from the show. Might be hard to find today but they are out there. Interestingly, this locomotive (the Rogers 4-6-0) scales out to OO gauge although for decades it was always listed and sold as HO.

The Sierra Railroad was the guilty party, as far as where the actual locomotive performed its revenue service before becoming a movie star. Thanks to the magic of careful editing, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada can look look like just about anywhere.

the name of the museum is Railtown 1897 http://www.csrmf.org/railtown/default.asp

Thanks dbduck-you beat me to the link, I’ve been busy “workin on the railroad” tonight.

i know it was in califorina, but are there any track plans for the sierra rr between oakdale, jamestown, sonora, tuolume or would it be in past issues of model railroader .if there are no track plans what about the senery or the landsacpe
i"ll make my own track design

p.s thanks chj831
