Help! - Pictures in Reply

This may be out of place, but how do you post pictures in a response, or on your profile(Signature, Quote, etc.) when you reply?

please…

On the left side of the reply message box (see below) is the *Show Forum Code, click on that and it will give you the HTML code for embedded objects. For an image you must have it uploaded on a web site and then you can put the web site URL address in between the following HTML codes for images.

Hope this helps!

waka324,

You need to open an account with a web site where you can upload and post your pictures. Railimages.com or Shutterfly.com are just a couple of FREE sites that you can do that on.

Once you upload your pictures (i.e. copy them from your computer) onto your host’s web site, you just need to copy the photo’s URL (or photo’s website address) you want into either your Trains.com profile or body of the message you want to post. The URL of the picture can be found by right clicking your mouse on the photo and picking “Properties”. You will then be able to see the URL under Properties.

Now, In order for the photo to show up in your profile or message body, the photo URL has to be situated between these two closed brackets: [“img”] and [“/img”] (minus the quotation marks). For example:

[“img”]http://www.railimages.com/gallery/TomStage/coolpictureofloco.html[“/img”]

(Again, you’ll need to do this without the quotations marks.) The closed brackets on either side of the URL tell the website in HTML format that it is about to display an image.

It’s really fairly simple to do. I have mine pics posted (see link below) on Railimages.com. The directions to do all that I’ve poorly attempted to describe is listed on their web site, as well.

Hope that makes it clearer than mud…

Tom
