Help please. Stupid Question from a Stupid N scale Newbie

Any ideas on How to fit 8 feet of layout into 2 foot 3/4 inches by 2 foot 11 and 3/4 inches? I was thinking about staking 2 foot long sections with out the structures? I’m new to N scale. I mainly Model in HO but i want a N scale layout so i can work on it when its to cold to work on my HO layout. Any SUggestions?

This just gets harder and harder. The dimensions i need when the dor is shut its about 1 and 2 inchs. Any ideas on how to make this possible? Or am i trying to do the impossible?

Never mind Guys. I got ot thinking about it. I forgot i had another Cupboard about the same size so i can still get 8 feet of layout in there.[B)][X-)][#dots]

O…k… WHat are you tlaking about? And I’d apreciate it if u didn’t talk about Amtrak That way.

i don’t have any suggestions , but i do have a question .

i looked at your layout photos (looks great!) and your layout seems to be in the house , so why would it be too cold for you to work on the HO layout ?

[:O] That’s not nice NSBrakeman I hope no-one has rubbished your modelling choice[B)]

Ken.

If I understand correctly, a layout in a china cabinet type thing? sounds cooI[8D] I had sorta the same Idea as you CNW but I built a small N switching layout on my bedroom berough. Same reason too- to escape the cold in my garage.

His layout is in a shed in his backyard.

Yeah I have a “Shrunk”(its pretty big) in my Room. I can do anything i want wtih it except destroy the outisde.

Yeah i normaly model HO but My Layout is in a Shed in my back yard first summer i had it me and my dad Finished the Interior. Its Insulated and we have drywall up. But my door isn’t insulated and niether is the Ceilling. I have a space heater out there but if it drops below 30 It can’t keep up with teh Cold and the wind. My one Window is Cracked up and when its windy the wind blows right through it. And truding through snow isn’t alot of fun either.

Does anyone have this engine http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/150-44016 or this engine http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/150-44017 . I’d Prefer the First Engine but i will take either. I will pay anything up to about 80 bucks. If anyone knows where i can find one please let me know

You’ve been here two days, have a grand total of 16 posts and THAT is the best you can do for a response?

Most people don’t show their ignorance until they’ve been around for awhile. Congrats for letting us know early on what you are all about.

(stupid is as stupid does)
Hey, by the question posed, The question nor you seem stupid at all.
The main thing to do is try this on paper first. It seems that simple
math and/or division could help. On the other hand, a matter of trial
and error to fit the area could solve the problem. I know I more than
likely tap danced your question but I had to thiink about a response.
I will try to put this through some scales and come back.
