I uninstalled 3 soundtrax decoders and put them in the cabinet without any further notes. They have been bought and installed last year and most likely used in Athearn HO engines.
Can you help me to identify them?
They’re board replacement decoders to fit into Atlas, Athearn, or Kato diesel locomotives – other than that, the only way to know exactly is to temporarily connect power and a speaker and see if you can identify what sound files are installed.
Indeed,they look like Athearn replacement boards,but likely can be fitted in other models,exc. Kato.
Based on the stamps/markings on the top/middle-right, those look like GN1000, designed for installation in Athearn. The bottom one has a different white letter stamp and capacitor markings than the top two. Hard to tell which motive power they are for. Call Soundtraxx (ask for tech support) or send them an email, they should be able to figure it based on the stamps/markings. By the way, your soldering skills look good!

I had hope the three digit number could be used to identify the stored sound file.
Don’t forget that Athearn uses 1.5V lamps. The out put on these will be 1.5V. You can use LEDs with these board.Here’s how to wire up leds. Joe

Yeah, all three appear to be TSU-GN1000 decoders, although the bottom one has some different numbers than the top two on both the capacitor and the board.

I got excellent support. The other side of the decoder holds the information needed by their support. The felt pen digit (1 and 8) on the ROM is the last digit of the part number (828051 EMD 645 Turbo and 828058 EMD 645 none Turbo). They are really very fast and friendly handling my email question.
