Help Transferring Pix

This may be the wrong forum but I need a little help. I truly enjoy photographing the railroad and sharing the pictures. I have used photobucket in the past and it works. I was able to tranfer pictures from my camera to my home computer then transfer the pictures to a stick so that I can use my computer at work; no on line at home. It worked before but some how when I transferred the pictures this time to the stick and tried to transfer the pictures to the computer they have some small icon next to each picture but I can’t pull the picture up.

They are listed on the device but no pictures. Should I try a different stick, it has worked before.

Just wondering: If you take the stick back home, will the pictures on the stick open on your home computer?

Also, you may have (accidentally) saved it in the wrong format–doc instead of jpeg, or something like that. A couple of times, Photoshop has got me in a tizzy because it wanted to do a file as a png. Bad Photoshop, bad!

Most of the time I save my photos as jpg though, png does work also. Some photo programs want you to use their format but the choice is there if you know how to use the photo program.

I use Photo Bucket also. I use You Tube for videos.

For some years I have been using a program called Gimp which is a free download and does quite well. Kind of along the line of Photoshop.

When you download you have a selection of web size or original size. Pick original.
