repairing 362 barrel loader. Set air gap 1/32, installed new copper disk. Barrels just vibrate and go nowhere. Need help. Suggestions. Thanks Dave
My experience is that the loader must be fastened down so base doesn’t move. Speculating base moves in the opposite direction of the ramp thus negating degree of movement necessary to advance barrels. Hielsie
Also, check the current to the coil with a DC multimeter to check the polarity - to see if indeed the coil is getting DC and the rectifier is not shorted.
When I had my barrel loader set up, I used an external rectifier, even though the internal one was OK. It seems to have made a difference.
Also, I had mine fastened down loosely.
Finally, I suggest trying to adjust the voltage.
If your using the shiny stained barrels. Sand all the shine off the rims.
The ramp is spring mounted. The action of the springs pulling back when the coil is not energized is what causes the barrels to go up the ramp.If it is vibrating but the barrels are not moving I’m guessing the springs are worn or broken.
